Ian Mosey (Livestock) Ltd. is a family owned and operated business whose principle activity is contract finishing pigs for the UK pork industry. We produce piglets on our own breeding herds and purchase piglets from third party suppliers which are grown and finished on contract rearing farms in the North of England.
We are recruiting a Livestock Transport Planner to join our busy livestock planning team - this is a key position in a fast-paced office environment.
About the role
This role forms a key position within the Ian Mosey Livestock Planning team. As part of this team you are responsible for the efficient operations of the livestock transport function.
You will be involved in managing, organising and supporting the fleet of LGV drivers and vehicle resources to ensure the transport operation runs smoothly and therefore maximising efficiencies and delivering excellent customer service. You are also responsible for ensuring that Drivers are complying with EC Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations, GB Domestic Rules where applicable, Working Time Directive Regulations and our Company Policy. You will be responsible for managing the company's fleet of non-LGV vehicles, including the booking of services and repairs with our in house team of mechanics.
This is a challenging and demanding role, the ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changing demands is essential.
Key Requirements
* Previous logistics/transport planning experience in a busy and demanding environment would be advantageous
* Confident communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills across a variety of stakeholders
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to learn new procedures and systems
* Professional telephone manner
* Excellent IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Flexible and adaptable working style to meet customer need
