Job Title: Residential children's support worker.

Role Overview: As a Support Worker with Fort Care, you will build relationships that matter and make long lasting positive impacts on the lives of those who need it the most. A staff conscious rota is in place ensuring continuity within the home but also promoting a positive work life balance for all of our team members. You will form part of a dedicated team working collectively to ensure the children live in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide compassionate, child-centred care: Understand the individual needs of each child and actively contribute towards ensuring these are met.
* Assist with daily activities: From teaching children how to change bed sheets to taking part in treasure hunts or go-karting, the possibilities are endless and our team actively get involved and share positive and memorable experiences with the children.
* Support well-being and safety: Obtain a firm knowledge of legislation, company policy and each child's dedicated care planning documents to ensure you are contributing towards each child's safety and well-being.
* Build meaningful relationships: Build trusting relationships with individuals to encourage them to express their needs, wants, and goals while also feeling safe enough to discuss their problems, concerns and fears for the future.
* Ensure clear communication and record-keeping: Ensure that all records are up to date and accurate.
* Understand trauma informed care: Be resilient, patient and understanding. All behaviours are a form of communication. As one of our support workers, it is important to see the need behind the behaviour.

Desirable Qualifications:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or commitment to working towards completing)
* Experience working within residential children's homes for children with behavioural and emotional difficulties is massively advantageous but not essential.
* Any relevant training is a positive, however, Fort Care provides all necessary training for all team members.
