HadFab is a leading steel fabrication company based in Tranent, supporting major infrastructure and engineering projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to hire a Quality Engineer to support our Quality Lead and help ensure our products and processes meet the highest standards.
This is a hands-on, practical role working closely with production, projects, and suppliers to maintain and improve our Quality Management System and drive continuous improvement across the business.
About the Role
As Quality Engineer, youll support the ongoing development and implementation of HadFabs Quality Management System across production and projects.
Youll work closely with our Quality Lead, Operations team and Project Managers, helping ensure processes are followed, quality standards are maintained, and improvements are identified and implemented.
This role suits someone practical, detail-focused and proactive; someone who enjoys working on the shop floor as well as analysing and improving systems.
What Youll Be Doing:
* Supporting and improving our ISO 9001 Quality Management System
* Creating and managing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project quality documentation
* Investigating non-conformances and customer complaints, identifying root causes and corrective actions
* Carrying out shop floor inspections and supporting production teams
* Supporting internal and external audits, including customer and supplier audits
* Monitoring quality performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
* Working closely with Operations, Supervisors, and Project Manager
About You
Youre organised, practical and comfortable working closely with production teams.
You take pride in maintaininghigh standards and enjoy solving problems and improving processes.
Youll bring:
* Experience in a quality role within manufacturing, engineering or fabrication
* Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Confidence working with operational teams on the shop floor
* Good communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
* Experience with Root Cause Analysis or internal auditing is advantageous
