Job Purpose
To deliver high quality research and policy analysis to inform and support Oxfam Ireland’s advocacy and campaigns in Climate Justice across Ireland, Northern Ireland, the EU, and global levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop evidence‑based policy analysis to influence stakeholders at Irish, Northern Irish, EU, and global levels.
* Produce high‑quality written policy material on climate justice for public dissemination, including campaign literature.
* Stay up to date on the latest academic and public policy developments and integrate learnings into the organisation.
* Commission and manage climate justice research projects to underpin advocacy work.
* Organise conferences and events with Oxfam colleagues and partners across the island.
* Collaborate with the Oxfam International Secretariat on research, policy development, and interpretation of shared policy for the Irish context.
* Support other departments in influencing work aligned with operational plans.
* Work closely with Oxfam’s regional/country teams and policy/advocacy teams across the confederation.
* Represent Oxfam Ireland, building strategic relationships in coalitions, academia, lobbying and consultation events.
* Explore funding opportunities to advance Oxfam Ireland’s climate justice work.
* Carry out any other activities within the role’s scope as required.

Personal Specification
Essential Requirements
* Experience producing research and policy papers in climate or related areas.
* In‑depth knowledge of Irish, and global climate justice policies.
* Strong understanding of development sector issues and political/public engagement methods.
* Third‑level qualification in a relevant subject.
* Knowledge of regional, national and international institutions relevant to new policy on international development.
* Experience leading strategy development for an organisation.
* Right to work in ROI and the UK.
Desirable
* Masters qualification in a relevant subject.
* Experience conducting gender analyses related to policy and advocacy.
* Experience working directly with policymakers in Ireland and the EU.
* Experience representing organisations in media and public forums.
* Experience advocacy and campaigning with civil society organisations and grassroots movements.
* Track record of innovative multi‑channel advocacy.
* Strong network‑building and influencing skills with a diverse audience.

* Organisational, administrative and time‑management skills.

Location
Belfast or Dublin based. Permanent, 36 hours per week.
Salary
Salary: €41,750 – €49,329 / £36,120 – £42,676.98
