The Role:
A specialist SEN school in Oldham is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of complex needs. This is a full-time position starting immediately, ideal for someone who thrives in a structured and supportive environment.
You will be working with pupils who have autism, severe learning difficulties, and physical or sensory impairments. The role involves both classroom support and personal care responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis
Assist with personal care and physical support where necessary
Help implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets
Promote independence and emotional wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Health & Social Care) are an advantage
