About you
About the job
You will be working independently as the Registered Manager and will report into the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, welfare and fulfilment of the young people you are supporting. You will be leading and inspiring a staff team to deliver exceptional and innovative care and support to the young people within the home.
Responsibilities
* Working in partnership with the staff team to safeguard our young people at all times.
* Having overall operational responsibilities for the management of the home, including oversight of all records and personal files.
* Leading on the development, implementation and monitoring of our young people’s individual plans, liaising with external professionals, agencies and families.
* Contributing to the development of the team and empowering them to promote independence within the residential setting and wider community.
* Conducting individual performance and development reviews and supervisions with senior care team members.
* Supporting the care team to organise appropriate, engaging activities, trips and extended visits for the young people.
Qualifications, skills or experience
* QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent; willing to complete the Level 5 within 2 years
* At least 2 years of significant management/supervisory experience in a care setting within the past 5 years
* Proven experience of working effectively with people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs
* Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs including recent developments and person-centred planning
