Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEND Support Location: Birmingham Contract Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and role Start Date: ASAP Monarch Education is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Birmingham. This rewarding role involves supporting small groups of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the mornings and cover PPA whole class lessons across year groups from EYFS to Year 6, depending on the need you might be asked to cover classes all day. Key Responsibilities: Support small groups and individual SEND pupils with tailored learning activities that meet their specific needs. Step in to lead whole class teaching during teacher absence or PPA sessions, ensuring continuity and high-quality learning. Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to design and deliver inclusive, differentiated lessons. Track pupil progress and provide insightful feedback to inform future planning and interventions. Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages confidence, independence, and active participation. Requirements: HLTA qualification or equivalent. Proven experience working with SEND children in a primary school setting. Strong understanding of the primary curriculum across EYFS to KS2. Experience of teaching whole class lessons in the absence of the class teacher Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and support diverse learning needs.
