If so, GSL Education are seeking dedicated and proactive Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of inclusive and supportive school settings across Nottingham. This role is perfect for individuals with experience supporting students who exhibit challenging behaviours or who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Behaviour Support TA, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to students who require help managing their behaviour and emotions in order to fully engage in their learning. You’ll work closely with teachers, pastoral leads, and SEN teams to implement behaviour management strategies and contribute to a positive learning environment. Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities: Support students with behavioural needs both in and out of the classroom Assist in developing and implementing personalised behaviour support plans Use de-escalation techniques and provide emotional support as needed Help students stay focused and engaged during lessons Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain consistency Encourage and model positive behaviour and effective communication Monitor progress and report concerns to relevant school staff Support re-integration of students following behavioural incidents or absences Promote a respectful and inclusive learning environment Maintain safeguarding and confidentiality at all times Candidate Requirements: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant or similar Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent (desirable) A degree in Psychology, Counselling or a similar field. Strong communication, relationship-building, and behaviour management skills Calm, patient, and confident approach Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) Why Join GSL Education?
