Purpose of the Role
The Marketing Manager will play a key role in driving growth of article consumption for 16-24 year olds. This position collaborates across various functions, including brand marketing, editorial, media and analytics and is largely focused on paid media campaigns.

Working closely with editorial, media planning, and analytics teams, you’ll help shape the weekly paid media schedule, ensuring the most relevant stories are promoted effectively. Key Responsibilities And Impact
 * Collaborating with editorial and using data‑driven analysis to identify relevant 16‑24 year old targeted content for article promotion in paid media each week.
 * Liaising with relevant leads on each team on content choices.
 * Collaborate with editorial to understand upcoming content priorities and planned events/stories, managing the schedule of potential content for paid promotion.
 * Manage process for checking image rights on articles and providing alternative solutions where needed.
 * Manage media process with internal media planning team and media agency Havas, ensuring they have the content links on time and approving previews before the content is set live.
 * Working with media and analytics to understand what is working and what isn’t, proposing optimisation opportunities to the group for discussion.
 * Collating campaign performance reports and feeding relevant data into wider audiences team reporting.
 * Proactively suggesting any improvements to the campaigns to achieve our goals or streamline workflow.
Essential Criteria / Your Skills And Experience
 * Experience working across news or sport content for promotion, with experience managing sensitive stories. Strong judgement on content and good collaboration with editorial required.
 * Experience in paid digital performance media, particularly knowledge of Meta ads.
 * Data‑driven & analytical—comfortable with analysing, understanding and explaining data and using it to optimise performance.
 * Ability to work in a fast‑paced team, reactive to the news/sport agenda.
 * Excellent stakeholder management.
