An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior healthcaresupport worker to join our Childrens Community Nursing Service. We have a position within our InclusionNursing team who provide vital nursing support for students who have complexhealth, additional needs or Learning disabilities, who attend the SpecialistInclusive Learning Centres (SILCs). Youwill be required to work across a number of different school sites within Leedsso the ability to travel between bases is essential.
We work Monday to Friday with various hours from 08.0016.00 and the role is term time only so an ideal opportunity for people who areunable to work in the school holidays.We support applications for flexible working when we can.
Whilst this is a clinical role, we do not expect candidatesto have previous clinical experience, but some experience working with childrenis beneficial. You will receive a full package of training and will be wellsupported by an experienced team of nurses.
Main duties of the job
Interested candidates should love working with children,can engage and communicate well with parents and enjoy being part of a team whowill work alongside health and education staff.
You will be responsible for providing clinical care withinthe SILCs in Leeds. The work isinteresting, varied, and includes delivering tube feeds to children,administering medication, as well as enabling children to attend school andcomplete school activities.
We operate a cross service model of working so you willhave the opportunity to spend time and work with our other clinical teamsHannah House, Continuing Care and Childrens Community Nursing which onoccasions you may be asked to support.
