The Temporary Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced, strategic and highly motivated School Business Manager to join the leadership team at Ysgol Cambrian. This is a key role within the school, providing professional leadership and management of finance, HR, administration, premises and compliance functions across both sites. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the school meets its educational aims and operates efficiently, safely and sustainably.
The successful candidate will take a lead role in the strategic planning, monitoring and management of the school’s budget, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective use of resources. They will oversee income generation, grant management and major projects, and will act as the school’s senior officer for GDPR compliance. The role also includes line management of clerical and site staff, ensuring high performing teams that provide excellent support to pupils, staff and families.
A significant part of the role will involve working with the Head of School and Site Manager to oversee premises management, health and safety compliance, risk assessment processes, contractor management and the planning and delivery of capital projects. The School Business Manager will also contribute to the wider leadership of the school as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
We are seeking an individual with excellent organisational, financial and analytical skills, strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Experience of managing budgets, leading teams and delivering high quality business operations is essential. Experience of working in a school setting or with a governing body is desirable.
