Position: Research Associate/Fellow in the Department of History, University of Nottingham.
Salary: £31,387 to £38,784 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £35,608 for a relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Project Description
The role is associated with the project “Establishing the Girl Guide Archive as a Scholarly Resource”, funded by Girlguiding UK and the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The holder will assess the Girlguiding archive in Grantham, exploring its research potential and situating it within the archival landscape and recent historiographical developments.
Collaboration will be with head archivist Hannah Jenkinson, academic mentors Dr Dean Blackburn and Dr Daniel Hucker. Travel between Nottingham and Grantham will be required, achievable by public transport.
Key Objectives
* Establish the scholarly uses of the Girlguiding archive.
* Incorporate the organisation’s history into its day-to-day activities.
* Secure the long-term survival of the archive.
Role Details
0.8 fte (29 hours per week).
Fixed‑term post from 1 April 2026 to 31 July 2026.
