We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team and manage our hotel restaurant. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a similar role in a hotel environment, who has excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, good organisational skills and team leadership skills.

Location: Rubens at The Palace Hotel (SW1W 0PS)

Employment type: Full‑time

Working pattern: Shift work 5 days on 2 days off

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (inclusive tronc)

The Rubens at the Palace Hotel part of the Red Carnation Hotels, is a stunning five‑star property located in the heart of London’s Victoria and within walking distance of Buckingham Palace. This wonderful hotel has been fully refurbished and features 161 individually designed bedrooms and suites, as well as a range of Food and Beverage outlets including The English Grill Restaurant, The Curry Room Restaurant, The New York Bar, The Palace Lounge and Champagne Bar, as well as 9 well equipped function rooms.


Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Restaurant Manager

* Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the restaurant, maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality.
* Lead and manage the team on the floor, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent service delivery.
* Assist the Restaurant Manager in training and developing the team, ensuring staff members are skilled and motivated to perform their best.
* Participate in suggestive selling activities, helping to maximise guest satisfaction and sales opportunities.
* Maintain high levels of communication and collaboration between the restaurant team to ensure seamless service.
* Take part in monthly stocktakes and departmental meetings, contributing to the operational efficiency of the restaurant.
* Assist in managing guest relations, addressing any concerns, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for all guests.

* Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or luxury restaurant environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and lead a team effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and an eye for maintaining high standards in both service and presentation.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* Leadership abilities with experience in motivating and developing a team.
* A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
