About The Role
As the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for driving Grainger & Worrall’s growth strategy by identifying and securing new business opportunities, expanding our market presence, and fostering strategic partnerships. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, develop long-term client relationships, and ensure alignment with the company’s overall objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Establishing, implementing, and evolving business development strategies to achieve order intake targets.
* Monitoring industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and obstacles.
* Creating and maintaining a solid pipeline of potential opportunities to develop new orders, partnerships, and revenue streams.
* Building and nurturing strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry peers.
* Guiding negotiations, securing contracts, and ensuring successful onboarding of new customers or partners.
* Overseeing and guiding the wider business winning team, providing mentorship, training, and performance management.
* Collaborating with delivery, engineering, finance, supplier management, and the wider team to ensure a coordinated approach to business winning and market penetration.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll have a proven track record in business development, with extensive experience in the defence and aerospace sectors. You should be motivated by the opportunity to join a medium-sized company and play a significant role in its expansion.
* Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field.
* Proven track record of driving significant order book growth and closing high-value and/or complex deals.
* Strong influence and collaboration skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
* Strategic thinking and ability to solve complex problems.
* Proficiency in CRM tools and data analysis.
* Strong existing network in the defence and aerospace industries.
