Being a QA engineer is more than just testing, we are champions of quality and we are passionate about embedding it throughout the lifecycle to prevent defects rather than find them, and to build systems we are proud of rather than break them. We believe in testing continuously rather than at the end and that quality is the responsibility of the whole team. We are subject matter experts guiding our teams to think critically about all aspects of delivery not just functional but for example in areas like security, performance, accessibility and usability. As a quality assurance engineer, you are responsible for: • Taking an active role in agile ceremonies such as refinement, kick-offs and retrospectives • Helping the team understand and estimate any test efforts, test dependencies during planning and refinement sessions • Reviewing requirements to understand gaps, the potential user impact, risk and dependencies on other internal/external services • Reviewing designs and helping the team deliver features that are accessible and inclusive to everyone • Pairing with engineers during development and code review to ensure appropriate test coverage at different levels and to avoid any duplication of efforts • Ensuring our automation test framework and coverage is targeted, relevant, efficient and resilient • Working with the team to determine the root cause of issues, for example: using logs, databases and user reports • Actively contributing to our QA community, by sharing your experience and learning from others Skills we are looking for: • A passion for software quality assurance and delivering an excellent experience to the end-user • Experience working with relational databases using SQL • Experience working in an agile environment with continuous release mechanisms • Exposure to running and debugging automated test suites • Experienced in using API testing tools such as Postman • Ability to influence within your domain of expertise • Ability to adapt to change and a hunger to learn and experiment with new technologies and proces
