Are you a passionate Interaction Designer looking for your next contract role? Do you want to use your skills to work on services that have a real, positive impact on millions of users? We are looking for a talented individual to join a dedicated team within a leading financial regulatory body.
The Role:
As an Interaction Designer, you will be embedded within a multi-disciplinary digital product team (squad), working to design intuitive and accessible new products and services that help our users achieve their goals.
You will be a champion for user-centred design, using evidence and research to advocate for user needs and drive key design decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary squad, taking responsibility for designing user-centred solutions as part of a broader service.
* Advocate for the identification of user issues and important needs, ensuring the user's voice is always heard.
* Use evidence, data, and research to make informed design decisions and document hypotheses that articulate how and why designs will impact users.
* Create high-quality interactive prototypes using an HTML prototyping kit, as well as standard visual design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
* Facilitate a collaborative design culture, approaching prototyping and ideation as a team activity and actively testing ideas with others.
* Contribute to and utilise our evolving Design System, using established style guides and content patterns to ensure consistency.
* Be a champion for accessibility, ensuring all design work meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards and supports a diverse range of users.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as an Interaction Designer, UX Designer, or similar role.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating your process from discovery to final design, including examples of prototyping and evidence-based decision making.
* Proficiency in using an HTML prototyping kit and visual design software (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
* Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and practices.
* Experience working with and contributing to Design Systems, style guides, and pattern libraries.
* A deep commitment to designing accessible digital services that meet WCAG guidelines.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an agile, multi-disciplinary team.
