English Teacher – SEND School
Are you an English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional learning needs? Do you want to teach small classes where you can adapt your teaching to support every student’s progress? This excellent SEND school in South Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated English Teacher to work with students who have special educational needs in a supportive and well‑resourced environment.
As an English Teacher at this school, you will teach small classes of students with a range of special educational needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and communication impairments. You will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons that support students to develop their literacy, communication and confidence. The school offers outstanding facilities and a welcoming environment where staff work collaboratively to ensure every student receives the support they need. You will be supported by a strong leadership team and experienced support staff who are committed to helping students achieve their potential. This role requires a QTS or QTLS English Teacher.
Job Role
* Teaching English to small classes of students with special educational needs
* Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
* Supporting students with ASC, MLD and communication impairments
* Creating a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
* Working closely with Teaching Assistants to support engagement and progress
* Supporting the development of literacy, communication and confidence
* Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
* Contributing to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
