What you'll do: Electrical Testing of PCB Sub Assemblies: Perform functional and safety testing on PCB assemblies ranging from 12VDC to 110VDC and 24VAC to 254VAC. Work to documented test specifications, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and compliance. Use test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, insulation testers (meggers), and programming tools. Test custom-built or spare PCBs/units before packaging and dispatch. Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting Identify faults quickly and accurately in a fast-paced production environment. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures. Troubleshoot down to component level, performing repairs, rework, or recommending corrective actions. Prevent scrap through logical problem solving. Perform soldering and de-soldering where applicable. Quality Inspection & Supplier Part Verification Inspect incoming components and assemblies to AQL standards, signing off batches or escalating concerns. Record inspection results and support Quality in raising supplier issues. Record issues in the Operations Log for Engineering review. Record test data for samples, diagnostics, and quality reporting. Qualifications: Level 3 qualification or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Electrical Testing (or equivalent). Apprenticeship-trained in electrical or electronics highly desirable. Higher level qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) desirable but not essential. Skills: Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical testing, PCB testing, or electronic manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of electronic principles, AC/DC circuits, and component-level behaviour. Proficient in using electrical test and measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, insulation testers (meggers), and programming tools. Able to read schematics, engineering drawings, and test specifications with high attention to detail. Experience with PCB programming tools and firmware loading but not essential. Confident in systematic fault-finding and repairing boards. Confident using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. For basic data-entry and administrative capability for updating logs, reports, and test records. Experience using SAP (or similar ERP software) for booking work in/out, traceability, and part management but not essential. Ownership of Testing Area & Workflow Management Act as the main responsible tester for the area. Manage personal workflow independently while responding to urgent requests when required. Ensure the test area is organised, compliant with 5S, and that equipment is maintained. Support standardisation of testing processes across the team. Maintain accurate traceability for parts, processes, and repairs. Monitor calibration status of test equipment and flag when recalibration is required.
