Job Title: Mechanical Industrial Engineer
Contract Duration: 12 Months – Umbrella
An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Industrial Engineer Planning Lead to join a major engineering company. You will be responsible for designing and implementing production improvements across the manufacturing function. The position applies Lean principles and quality improvement techniques in line with technical and quality procedures, delivering innovative solutions to improve safety, reduce manufacturing costs, and support major capital improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and implement changes to factory layouts, tooling, and working methods.
* Execute and support production processes to ensure on-time delivery in line with technical drawings, quality standards, standard times, and equipment specifications.
* Maintain and update equipment records and the company asset register.
* Support project management activities from concept through to completion, including benefit realization and documentation.
* Develop technical specifications to support the tendering process and ensure value for money.
* Manage contractors throughout the project lifecycle, from assessment to onsite delivery and handover.
* Maintain and update process and equipment documentation.
* Support Continuous Improvement initiatives as required.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience delivering results in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong team player with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
* Experience in a production engineering environment.
* Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent).
* CAD proficiency.
