Psychology Graduate - Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Education and Training – East Grinstead
This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with previous SEN experience or a graduate with a keen interest in Special Educational Needs. The role provides hands-on experience working with social, emotional, mental health needs and supports pupils aged 4-11 in a learning support setting.
Location: East Grinstead. Contract Type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8:30 – 15:30. The school uses restorative, therapeutic approaches to education and behaviour management. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
Responsibilities
* Assist students academically and pastorally
* Work 1:1 and in small groups with students
* Encourage development of social skills and support students’ individual needs
* Attend staff meetings and complete CPD
* Follow safeguarding procedures
* Ensure accurate individual student records are maintained
* Participate in team meetings and training programmes as an active team member
Qualifications & Requirements
* An undergraduate degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience; suitable for psychology graduates or aspiring Educational Psychologists
* Education in English and Maths, Grade 5 / C and above (desired)
* Knowledge or understanding of diverse learning and behavioural needs (SEMH, PRU, Cognitive Behaviours)
* Willingness to work 1:1 and in small groups; passionate about helping children achieve their potential
