Are you a compassionate and dedicated support professional with a passion for helping children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)?
GSL Education are seeking a patient and nurturing PMLD Support Assistant to work in a specialist school environment catering to pupils with complex needs.
This role is ideal for a PMLD Support Assistant who thrives in a calm, structured setting and is committed to supporting the personal, social, and academic development of students with high-level learning needs.
Responsibilities as a PMLD Support Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD and associated physical or medical needs.
* Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
* Use specialist equipment and communication aids where required.
* Follow individual care plans and work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals.
* Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all learners.
Requirements for PMLD Support Assistant:
* Have experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex SEN.
* Be confident with manual handling and personal care (training can be provided).
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
* Be comfortable using alternative communication methods (e.g. Makaton, PECS).
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
* Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps within the last 10 years.
