Senior Business Development Manager – CPD and Professional Education The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for supporting the Head of Knowledge Exchange and Innovation and the Associate Deans for Research and Innovation to identify opportunities in CPD and Professional Education to meet challenging income targets across the University through the development of our offer of open and bespoke short courses for professionals and as continuing education for both individuals and workforce development. We will rely on you to support the strategic and operational development of short course systems across the University, and drive sales of the full CPD provision. This is a new role with the aim of making London South Bank University a leading provider of short courses within the UK and internationally, through the branded Centre for Applied and Professional Education. Initially this is offered on a two year contract but success wil lead to a permamnant role being created. About our Senior BDM: The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering growth in the CPD and Professional Education market preferabley with experience in the Health sector; knowledge of Greenskills and Digital sectors will also be considered. You will have a deep understanding of the market and how LSBU can leverage the opportunities. The role involves the identification of opportunities for courses tailored to both individuals, delegate sales, and corporate/group sales, the latter including the sale of our tailored platform for hosting and managing internal short course requirements. You will have experience of identifying opportunities, managing client relationships, identifying resources to deliver, and writing and supporting the development of proposals including financial business planning. You will have strong organisation and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally. You will need to work with colleagues across the LSBU Group to ensure optimisation of identified opportunities. Other desirable attributes: * Strong technical skills base, with high numeracy, analytical and IT skills, in addition to good written and document design skills. * Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. * Good management and organisational skills and attention to detail, not only managing activity in line with agreed outcomes, but going beyond this to identify areas for improvement. * Flexible approach to work with the ability to prioritise complex workloads and manage changing priorities, whilst maintaining high standards of quality. * Knowledge of the various funding and government strategies such as Lifelong Learning.
