Job Overview
The Environment Agency is seeking a dedicated water resources professional to join the Water Resources Security of Supply team. The role will focus on ensuring sufficient water for society and the environment over the next 25 years.
Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of the next round of water resources management plans.
* Review and support water company drought plans.
* Coordinate and host technical events, liaising with Defra, Ofwat, DWI, Natural England and EA colleagues.
* Provide technical and policy input to the organisation and government.
* Manage two junior posts and work closely with technical leads across the team.
* Influence stakeholders and deliver projects in line with government priorities.
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience building and maintaining relationships.
* Strong project management and influencing skills with a track record of achieving results.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Technical knowledge of water resources planning is desirable but support can be provided.
* Experience in a team‑lead or similar role is useful.
Location & Working Arrangements
Role base: EA Office; national role with flexible/hybrid working. Some travel to London and overnight stays may be required.
