Pay rate – £35.45 per hour Contract – Temporary Durham County Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Consultant Social Workers for their Children in Care team. Based at Seaham, Durham. Offering flexibility between working from home and the office, with the expectation to work at the office at least 1-2 days per week for team days and meetings. The role is referred to differently within different Local Authority's. Durham’s Social Work Consultants hold a small caseload of up to 10 children, whilst also supporting the Team Manager. Supporting the Team Manager may include chairing low level strategy meetings, chairing stability meetings, developing practice within the Team, supporting colleagues with challenges, promoting Team performance and data etc. Candidates will need experience, skills and knowledge of the statutory duties around Children in Care. As well as experience of supporting Team Manager's. Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
