Salary: $120,000 - $180,000
We are seeking a Sr. Contracts Manager supporting our Navy systems business that supports all major defense industrial base shipbuilders and the U.S. Navy. This is an exciting opportunity to provide overall contract management stewardship across the entirety of programs within a growing business and fast-paced environment.
At Johnson Controls Navy Systems (JCNS), we have been supplying air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and services to the US Navy since 1917. The Sr. Contracts Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Johnson Controls Navy Systems contracts portfolio, including supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. This role partners with Program Managers and cross-functional teams to optimize program and contract performance, ensuring customer satisfaction aligned with business goals and strategic plans. As a key contributor, you will be actively engaged with the JCNS team reporting to the Director, Contracts / Programs, Navy Systems.

Compensation: $120,000 - $180,000 (based on experience)

Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, 10 holidays (total 6.5 weeks/year)
Responsibilities
* Review and provide feedback on customer RFIs, draft RFPs, and RFPs. Guide the program on contract terms and conditions, recommending exceptions as needed.
* Review and approve contractual documents to protect the company's contractual and risk posture, ensuring compliance with policies and requirements.
* Collaborate with Proposal Managers, Program Managers, and Pricing & Estimating to develop proposal strategies.
* Coordinate with Legal counsel on contractual matters.
* Lead contract negotiations to achieve targeted profit margins and favorable terms.
* Manage contract administration and customer contact activities to ensure proper acquisition and fulfillment.
* Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, interpret contract terms, draft formal correspondence, coordinate deliverables, and review/execute contract modifications.
* Engage proactively with program, technical, and operations teams to provide guidance based on contractual and compliance needs.
* Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders through presentations, documentation, and emails.
* Establish and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders, understanding requirements and facilitating collaboration.
Required Skills and Education
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* 8+ years of contracts management or related experience.
* Experience supporting DoD contracts, preferably with the Navy.
* Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations.
* Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve contract objectives.
* Proposal development, negotiation skills, and ability to build customer relationships.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
