Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with various tasks related to food preparation and service. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced culinary environment, whether you have prior kitchen experience or are eager to learn.
Responsibilities
* Prepare basic breakfast options along with occasional home baking, including cakes and sandwiches.
* Ensure the dishwasher is regularly checked for detergents etc to ensure regular maintenance
* Prepare food orders for residents.
* Record and monitor food wastage from trolleys and report to the Head Chef.
* Prepare trays for our residents.
* Cruet sets to be maintained in dining rooms
* Plate up biscuits/cakes/snacks for residents' morning and afternoon snacks.
* Wash all used/dirty cooking utensils, crockery and dishes using correct machinery and detergents.
* Prepare the snack trollies including regular preparation and checking of tea, sugar and coffee trays for visitors throughout the day and inline with business requirement.
* Ensure the staff kitchen is stocked with fresh bread, milk, butter and tea and coffee making supplies by 9am each day.
* Check and clean all fridges, including those in the staff kitchen daily.
* Collect all dishes and cups from the staff kitchen and return to the main kitchen.
* Complete all necessary paperwork including cleaning schedules, temperatures and health and safety paperwork.
Experience
* Previous experience in a catering or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential.
* Familiarity with meal preparation and food safety practices is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential attributes for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.70 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 33 per week
