An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fellow to join the medical education team in University Hospital Southampton as a postgraduate teaching fellow.
You will contribute primarily to providing an overview of teaching to over 150 Foundation doctors, but opportunities will also be available to participate in other teaching programmes such as Internal Medicine Training, International Medical Graduate Fellowship scheme, and Surgical training programmes.
You will work collaboratively alongside the undergraduate clinical teaching fellows, and the University of Southampton. You should be able to take a leadership role and be confident in leading on teaching initiatives alongside administrative staff. There is a strong focus on delivering teaching in our Simulation Suite, alongside the Clinical Skills team.
You will work closely with the Foundation Programme Directors and other coordinators to develop and deliver the teaching programmes for our doctors in UHS. You will contribute to the programme by providing teaching sessions, including simulation sessions, as well as steering the overall direction and content of teaching schemes/series.
Training and supervision for the role will be provided by the medical education team at UHS. If required, a part-time part working pat-tern is actively supported.
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to. UHS is rated 'Good' by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey, we were in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and for staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.
We support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the service. UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.
