Technical Trainer Grade 1
Reporting to the Technical Training Manager and based at our Training Academy, the Technical Trainer Grade 1 will deliver Technical Training programmes that are business‑focused, professional, engaging, and consistent with the company’s philosophy and policies.
This role could involve training new colleagues within the apprentice programme, or existing team members needing development. As part of the People Team, you will deliver training initiatives that enable improved performance and productivity of our people. Experience in technical and customer service skills, including Hybrid & Electric vehicles, MOT and customer care, would be very beneficial.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the delivery of the Technical Training Schedule, ensuring professional, consistent delivery that meets company policy and guidelines.
* Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all course documentation, including setting examinations and preparing individual and course assessments.
* Ensure compliance with awarding bodies’ requirements, securing necessary approvals.
* Maintain equipment and training aids, ensuring they are kept to a high standard and remain current and up to date.
* Participate in scheduled reviews of training materials to keep programmes up to date and fit for purpose, in line with the company’s key business objectives.
* Provide feedback to the Training Content Developer to improve the quality and content of Technical Training material.
* Maintain technical awareness by keeping abreast of market developments, engaging with CPD opportunities, reading trade magazines, and keeping up to date with relevant legislation affecting the motor industry.
* Evaluate Technical Training programmes, adopt continuous improvement, and encourage stakeholder feedback.
* Utilise all opportunities to engage learners in functional skills.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, acting as a training ambassador and mentor when required.
* Commercially focused with strong emphasis on both technical and customer service‑related course content.
* Strong team player, able to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, well‑organised and with excellent time‑management.
* High standards of appearance, conduct, performance, integrity, and confidentiality; positive, driven, and resilient.
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining quality of delivery.
* Strong functional English and maths skills.
* Beneficial: practical experience of coaching in the workplace.
* Beneficial: Training delivery and facilitation skills with an understanding of learning styles and interventions to support individual learner needs.
* Full UK Category B driver’s licence.
Location
Training Academy, Harlow, UK – Onsite, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
