About the Role We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Engineer to join our depot maintenance team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a critical part in keeping our plant and processing equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You’ll work on a wide range of heavy industrial machinery and be supported with ongoing training and development to broaden your technical capability and progress your career. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to ensure maximum plant uptime Diagnose and fault-find mechanical issues across a range of heavy plant and fixed processing equipment Work on conveyors, shredders, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems Ensure all work is completed safely, in line with company procedures and H&S standards Work closely with operations to minimise downtime and improve equipment performance About You Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role Strong mechanical knowledge with experience on heavy machinery and plant equipment Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, shredders, motors, and rotating equipment Electrical awareness (3-phase systems, motors, isolation) is highly desirable Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred Proactive, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
