Sunley hotel are looking for a temporary hotel receptionist to support the existing team.
The overall purpose of the role is to work closely with the wider catering team including the Supervisors to ensure external customers, staff and students enjoy an outstanding level of service and assist in pro-actively sourcing solutions to issues and services for users. To support building the hotels customer base by managing face to face, telephone and email queries related to the hotel.
Duties and responsibilities
* To handle telephone calls, take messages and forward on as required.
•Ensure that all guests and hotel service users are greeted and welcomed.
• Undertake administrative duties for the hotel and wider catering team if required.
* Ensure hotel reception areas are presentable, tidy and welcoming. Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults or discrepancies in respect of infrastructure or service delivery for the immediate environment and take ownership of any faults reported by other building users. Follow up on reported faults to ensure timely rectification.
* To manage the hotel car park barrier access for hotel users. Program room cards and maintain a customer database.
• To verify guest's payment method, complete all guests' billings, accurately post charges to guest rooms and accounts.
* To ensure that high standards are adhered to.
* Comply with Data Protection and confidentiality requirements.
• Manage conference room bookings.
* Work with the house keeping team to ensure that rooms are clean and presented for customers.
* Enforce rules and policies of the hotel.
Skills and experience
Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent
Reception / front of house experience
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Ability to adapt to technological advances
Integrity and professionalism, demonstrating a commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and the University's values of inclusivity, trust, sustainability and aspiration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for customer service
Be prepared to undertake additional training and instruction to effectively carry out the roles required within the post
Initiative and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent interpersonal skills to achieve desired outcome efficiently

Additional information
Please note this expected to run until mid October in the first instance and is 37.5hrs per week between Monday – Sunday with the shift patterns 07:00-15:00 or 14:00 – 21:30.
