Who are we looking for?
As our Cook/Chef, you'll be at the heart of our Extra Care scheme, where we support residents to live independently. Each scheme boasts its own on-site restaurant, providing top-quality lunchtime catering. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents enjoy delicious meals and excellent service every day.
We are seeking an experienced part-time Cook/Chef to help deliver high-quality food, excellent service, and a great experience for residents, while keeping the kitchen running smoothly day to day. This role is part-time, working 22.5 hours per week.
What will you be doing?
1. Daily Operations: Support Extra Care schemes, ensuring everything runs smoothly, in the preparation and serving of meals.
2. Ordering: Assist with ordering in the Lead Cook/Chef's absence to ensure the right level of stock to deliver the service is available.
3. Cooking from scratch: Work with fresh ingredients to deliver a limited menu of pre-ordered meals.
4. Positive influence: Create a positive and motivated work environment, leading by example.
5. Compliance: Maintain high standards of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
6. Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with catering teams, residents, and scheme managers.
7. Resident Feedback: Monitor and address resident feedback to continuously improve our services.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience: A proven track record as a Cook/Chef working with fresh food.
* Skills: Excellent cooking skills, including baking, and dessert making.
* Communication: Excellent relationship-building and communication skills to liaise effectively with catering teams, scheme managers, and residents.
* Passion: A genuine passion for food quality, service excellence, and operational efficiency.
