School Crossing Patrol Officer - Kings Ford County Infant & Junior School, Colchester
Type: Permanent, Part Time
Rate: £13.00 per hour
Location: Colchester
Working Style:
Support schools by ensuring the safety of pedestrians crossing the road during morning and afternoon hours. This role involves assisting children and the public at the crossing point, maintaining safety, and engaging with the community.
This position is approximately 7.5 hours per week, during the 39-week academic year, with shifts of 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and afternoon (14:45 - 15:45). Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Assist people with disabilities, especially those with mobility impairments, at the crossing.
* Maintain contact with the schools and assess risks at the crossing site.
* Report incidents, accidents, and equipment issues.
* Ensure proper use and maintenance of uniform and equipment.
* Give signals to stop traffic safely when pedestrians are crossing.
