Job Description:
We are looking for a Lead IT Engineer to support Laboratory Instrument Systems at our new Regeneron Cell Medicines (RCM) unit in Cambridge, MA. RCM focuses on novel cell therapies, translating science into medicine for patients. You will work with scientists as a lead IT partner, providing support on Laboratory instrument control systems and applications, and collaborating on data integration and management strategies. Your role involves delivering secure, efficient technical solutions to streamline laboratory workflows within Regeneron Research & Preclinical Development IT, supported by a team experienced in scientific data solutions.
As a Lead Laboratory IT Systems Engineer, your typical responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with laboratory personnel to manage requirements, design, build, and implement Laboratory Solutions and Equipment
* Managing vendor relationships and coordinating activities to integrate third-party applications into the lab environment
* Providing third-level support for laboratory applications
* Understanding scientists' data capture, analysis, and reporting needs
* Developing, configuring, and supporting various IT systems
* Working with project teams to deliver technical solutions
* Supporting the design, testing, and debugging of end-user applications
* Ensuring system functionality meets business and technical requirements
* Collaborating with vendors to resolve technical issues and define enhancements
This role may be suitable if you have:
* Experience in designing, building, and implementing Laboratory Solutions and Equipment
* Vendor management skills supporting third-party applications in lab environments
* Hands-on experience with Laboratory Solutions used by R&D teams in biopharma
* Experience working with R&D scientists to develop requirements and solutions
* Proven ability to deliver multiple initiatives in an agile environment
* Experience transitioning to new technologies to support business processes
* Excellent customer service skills working with customers and vendors
Qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in IT solutions for laboratory equipment. Basic knowledge of the life sciences/biopharma space and laboratory experience are preferred. Skills in AWS core services are a plus. The role requires onsite presence at least 3 days a week, subject to management review.
