Blue Diamond Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a newly established and expanding architectural practice in the West Midlands as they look to appoint multiple architectural professionals to support an expanding project pipeline.
Our client’s portfolio includes a broad range of residential and extra care work, with additional projects secured across industrial, commercial and logistics sectors.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Part I or Part II qualified Architect / Architectural Assistant to join a design-led studio at an early stage of growth, with genuine scope to influence projects, develop skills and progress within the business.
Role Overview
You will work across a range of RIBA work stages, supporting the design development, technical documentation and delivery of architectural solutions for projects of varying scale and complexity.
Working closely with senior designers and the director, you will contribute to both creative design development and detailed technical production, using a combination of physical and digital tools.
Model making will be a key part of this role, helping to test and communicate design ideas alongside digital studies and visual presentations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, models and documentation from concept through to detailed design and construction stages
* Contribute to planning submissions, technical packages, schedules and specifications
* Support the development of design ideas through physical model making, prototyping and visual studies
* Prepare design material and visuals for client presentations
* Help coordinate project documentation for regulatory approvals and tender stages
* Attend internal and external project meetings as required
* Liaise with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
* Maintain awareness of UK Building Regulations and best practice standards
* Support general studio activities as needed
Person Specification
* Part I or Part II qualified Architect (or working towards / equivalent)
* Proficiency in design software such as ArchiCAD and/or AutoCAD (Revit, SketchUp or Adobe Suite beneficial)
* A strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and planning processes (level dependent on experience)
* An interest in hands-on design development, including model making and physical testing of ideas
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
* High attention to detail with a proactive and professional approach
* Enthusiastic about design, with a willingness to contribute creatively across a varied project portfolio
