We are seeking an organised and proactive Cover Manager to join our team at a school. This is a key role within the school, ensuring that all lessons are covered effectively when teachers are absent. The Cover Manager will be responsible for managing and deploying cover staff, liaising with external agencies, and maintaining a smooth day-to-day operation of cover arrangements. Key Responsibilities Daily Cover Management:Organise and allocate cover staff for absent teachers, ensuring minimal disruption to student learning. Staff Coordination:Maintain a pool of reliable supply teachers and cover supervisors, liaising with agencies when necessary. Timetabling & Scheduling:Update the cover schedule daily and ensure all required lessons are adequately covered. Administrative Duties:Maintain accurate records of staff absences, cover arrangements, and agency bookings. Communication:Liaise with senior leadership, teachers, and support staff regarding cover needs and schedules. Compliance & Safeguarding:Ensure all cover staff meet the required safeguarding and DBS clearance checks before deployment. Person Specification Essential: Experience in a school environment, preferably in a cover management or administrative role. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff and external agencies. Proficiency in using school management systems (SIMS, Arbor, etc.). Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Desirable: Experience working with supply teachers and recruitment agencies. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and compliance requirements in education.
