Mitie are now recruiting for a Building Services Engineer with a gas engineer bias. This role is working on Central Government and Home Office Contracts.

Responsibilities
* Complete maintenance, repairs and PPMs in commercial and residential government properties, including fabric, basic electrical and plumbing tasks as required to meet legislative standards.
* Service air conditioning equipment in addition to gas engineering tasks.
* Complete appropriate IT and paperwork reports, ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within required timescales, and ensure certification is correctly completed with remedial works clearly identified.
* Carry out reactive and emergency tasks using handheld technology effectively.
* Be on a call-out rota to provide out-of-hours cover and assist other team members as directed by a Supervisor or Contract Manager.
* Proactively source additional opportunities or works on sites and provide detailed information for quotes.
Requirements
* Commercial Qualifications: CODNCO1, CCN1, CPA1, TPCP1 & TPCP1A, ICPN1, and appliances CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1.
* Domestic Qualifications: CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
* Experience: Experience in a similar role.
* Skills: Strong understanding of statutory compliance in building services engineering.
* Technical Proficiency: IT literate
* Driving Licence: Full Driving Licence
* F-Gas: Desirable but training can be provided
* Enhanced Security Check is required for the role
You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of manufacturer plants, for example, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Media, Toshiba, and LG. Understanding installation designs and bespoke manufacturer troubleshooting procedures, and being comfortable seeking manufacturer technical support autonomously is desirable. You will be expected to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, keeping logs of inspections, reports and remedial work.
* Candidates will have a full current driving licence and be willing to participate in an on-call rota.
* Be capable of performing manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces.
* Good verbal and written communication, including the ability to use a handheld computer device (PDA).
* High self-motivation, solutions-focused, able to work without supervision but also as part of a team.
Environment and Development
The ideal candidate will have experience within a Maintenance / Facilities Management environment and must have knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working. The role provides opportunities for training, development, progression and internal promotions.
