About The Team
The Transport team is responsible for managing HM Treasury’s interests in transport policy, working closely with the Department for Transport, which has a significant capital budget.
About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Policy Adviser to provide maternity cover for 9 months. You will oversee HM Treasury's role in rail infrastructure spending, a key departmental priority involving multi-billion investments in UK transport. Building strong relationships with DfT, Network Rail, NISTA, and other teams will be essential.
Key accountabilities:
1. Lead oversight of rail infrastructure spending and relationships with DfT, Network Rail, and the Office for Road and Rail.
2. Manage spending approvals for new rail infrastructure projects.
3. Supervise a Senior Executive Officer and guide team members.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence policy following the Spending Review, shaping future rail infrastructure investments.
