The Graduate Electrical Engineer will support the design, development, and delivery of marine electrical systems and equipment. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the role provides experience across electrical design, documentation, testing, and engineering processes. This position offers a strong foundation for graduates looking to build a technical career in a highly regulated engineering environment.
What you will be doing
Electrical Design & Documentation
* Assist in preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and layout drawings using 2D CAD tools.
* Support the creation, modification, and management of 2D drawings, 3D models and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the company’s data management system.
* Produce technical documentation including reports, manuals, test procedures, and Design Change Notes (DCNs) in accordance with company standards.
* Assist with engineering calculations relating to equipment sizing, electrical loads, and general system functionality.
* Participate in design reviews, supporting the evaluation of supplier and customer technical documentation.
* Work with experienced engineers to understand the configuration of motor control systems, variable speed drives, and electrical equipment used in marine environments.
* Support troubleshooting, investigation of non‑conformances, and structured problem‑solving activities.

* Degree (BEng/BSc) in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office.
* Ability to communicate clearly.
* Organised, self‑motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Logical thinker with good problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and engineering methods.
* Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
* Understanding of design in regulated industries.
* Awareness of electrical safety processes, EMC principles, or FMECA studies.
