Teaching Assistant - Early Years & Primary (SEND)
Location: Chippenham (and surrounding areas)
Contract: Full-time or part-time, long-term and day-to-day cover available
Pay: £89-£100 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
The Role
We are looking for caring and flexible Teaching Assistants to work across early years and primary settings in the Chippenham area, supporting children with SEND. This is a rewarding role where you will help children to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills, such as confidence, independence, and motivation.
It could also be a great starting point for anyone interested in progressing into teaching.
You will work both in-class and in small groups, supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, Speech and Language Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and other additional needs.
Main Responsibilities
Support pupils to access learning and take part in school life
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
Assist with communication, self-regulation, and social interaction skills
Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to implement agreed support strategies
Essential Criteria
Previous experience supporting children (in schools, care, or youth work)
Strong communication skills
Patience and resilience
Flexibility and ability to think on your feet
A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in a school or nursery setting
Teaching Assistant qualification

Pay
Five Education operates a PAYE payroll - the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin charges or employer's NI. Please note, pay rate is illustrative and includes holiday pay.
Vetting
Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants will undergo checks including reference and TRA checks. If you do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, a new DBS will need to be processed at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work and once registered to the update service.
