Job summary
* To liaise with wards, clinical staff, GPs, and Trust support staff in person, via telephone, and email as necessary.
* To show a caring and professional approach towards patients and visitors when carrying out appointment duties.
* Escalate patient queries, capacity problems, and general issues to the role's line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
Working with a small team responsible for booking X-Rays, managing all the ice mail to GPs and consultants, and performing other clerical duties within the role.
Adding information onto hospital computer systems when required.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training (Essential)
* Business and Administration Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience
* GCSE grade C or above in English Language and Maths (or equivalent)
Knowledge and Experience (Essential)
* Clerical/administration experience including filing and reception
Desirable
* Previous admin experience in healthcare or public setting
* Previous NHS experience
Skills and Abilities (Essential)
* Excellent/professional telephone and reception manner
* Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adapt to change, motivate others
* Work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain accuracy
* Good organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
