Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)Princes Risborough
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join the Engineering Team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining factory equipment and production lines to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role is key to maximising uptime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring high standards of equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of machinery, including CNC equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
Work with electrical systems including 3-phase, AC/DC inverter drives, servo motors, relays, contactors, and control panels.
Read and interpret schematic drawings to support fault-finding and repair work.
Respond to breakdowns promptly, applying safe working practices at all times.
Support continuous improvement by identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.
Use the CMMS system to record, track, and complete maintenance tasks.
Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and production teams to meet operational targets.
Skills & Experience
Time-served Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
Recognised qualification in Maintenance Engineering (BTEC Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations desirable (not essential).
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills on complex machinery.
Hands-on experience with CNC machinery and associated electrical systems.
Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage varied maintenance tasks.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
Working Pattern & Benefits
Standard week: 39 hours (day shifts only – no evenings/nights).
Variable shift patterns depending on workload, paid as 39 hours per week:
43 hours: Mon–Thu 9 hrs/day, Fri 7 hrs.
40 hours: Mon–Thu 8.5 hrs/day, Fri 6 hrs.
34 hours: Mon–Thu 8.5 hrs/day.
25.5 hours: Mon–Wed 8.5 hrs/day.
Start times: 7:00am or 7:30am.
