We are seeking a proactive and highly organized project coordinator for employment and skills to join our dynamic team delivering the Trailblazer programme for economically inactive residents across South London. This innovative project aims to reduce economic inactivity by developing integrated, person-centred employment and skills pathways, working closely with local authorities, health services, training providers, and voluntary sector partners.

As the South London Partnership (SLP) Employment and Skills Project Officer, you will provide day-to-day project coordination support, ensuring that milestones are met. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate project plans, trackers, and risk registers, supporting performance reporting, claim submissions, and compliance monitoring. You will liaise with delivery partners, Borough leads, and health teams to gather updates and ensure smooth communication.
Your main focus will be supporting the effective delivery and integration of People, Skills, and Employment initiatives with health programmes across the six boroughs: Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Wandsworth, and Sutton. Additionally, you will assist the Head of Economy, Skills, and Employment with project management reporting for all SLP Employment and Skills projects.
The People and Skills programme at SLP delivers various employment and skills projects to help residents find meaningful work. You will support the Programme Lead in coordinating, delivering, and managing the performance of all projects.
This is an expanding area of work, linking with health partners to improve access to employment services. The role is fixed-term until March 31st, 2026, and offers a hybrid working arrangement, primarily remote but with travel across boroughs for events and meetings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing day-to-day project coordination support to meet delivery milestones
* Maintaining accurate project plans, trackers, and risk registers
* Supporting performance reporting, claim submissions, and compliance monitoring
* Liaising with delivery partners, borough leads, and health teams to gather updates and facilitate communication
* Organizing project meetings, workshops, and engagement events
* Assisting with data collection for evaluation and audits
* Supporting communication campaigns, including social media content
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent work experience
* Knowledge of employment and skills opportunities and challenges in South London
* Experience supporting projects, preferably in the public or voluntary sectors
* Strong administrative and coordination skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
* Confidence in using social media for marketing
* Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially and a commitment to equality, inclusion, and partnership working
* Experience working with councils on employment and skills initiatives
* Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize information; capable of drafting high-quality reports
