An exciting opportunity has arisen within Raytheon UK for a Systems Engineering Manager to join our Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) business. The role involves working across a range of programmes and R&D studies, developing capacity within the Engineering team to support the strategic growth of the business.
The position will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility, reporting directly to the APNT Senior Programme Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing engineering team in Raytheon UK, delivering technical expertise to both military and civil customers worldwide.
This role includes:
* Managing the APNT System Engineering team (10 Systems Engineers) across programmes
* Leading preparation of technical proposals in response to bids
* Leading requirements analysis and management tasks—from capturing customer requirements to developing subsystem and supplier requirement sets
* Leading systems design and development, collaborating with internal teams and external supply chain partners
* Leading systems integration, verification, and validation, including developing test specifications and compliance matrices
* Defining system capabilities for APNT technology and product roadmaps
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
* Degree in engineering or a related field
* Experience managing a systems engineering team throughout the product lifecycle
* Experience leading engineering teams in programmes and proposal preparations
* Line management experience of functional teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Willingness to travel within UK, Europe, and the US
* Eligibility for MOD security clearance at SC level minimum
* Radar domain knowledge or experience
* Experience with modelling and simulation
* Knowledge of the certification process within the system lifecycle
