Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you’ll be part of a team that’s doing incredible things for the built environment and for a sustainable future.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with the operational management team and advise on all matters relating to contract and commercial issues.
* Maintain accurate financial control systems and report monthly on cost/value reconciliation.
* Liaise with and advise on all financial aspects of contracts, ensuring that valuations are maximised, certified and paid on time.
* Monitor progress on site and take lead in issuing required notices in accordance with contract procedures and timescales.
* Prepare forecasts of cost and value of all trades, including preliminaries, and monitor and report on the same.
* Prepare preliminary budgets in association with contract staff and monitor and report on the same.
* Ensure all quotations are carefully vetted and comply with the specification, ensuring the most competitive bids are obtained.
* Ensure regular meetings are held to agree variations, avoiding reliance on the final account stage.
* Manage subcontractor accounts accurately and effectively to enhance contract performance.
* Assist the Operations Team, as required, in securing labour, materials and subcontractors to ensure contracts are completed on time and within budget.
* Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety Policy and Quality Manual.
Qualifications
You will already be qualified and experienced in quantity surveying, with a background in managing budgets and delivering similar services to a high standard. Demonstrable experience within a relevant sector of the construction industry is required. Strong communication, sales and negotiation skills, an analytical approach, and the ability to set realistic objectives and solve key problems are essential.
