Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects from initial scope through to installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. This role involves managing subcontractors, coordinating resources, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety, including DSEAR and ATEX compliance. The position is hybrid, requiring time at the main office and on sites, with occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
* Capture and validate customer requirements, including technical MEICA specifications.
* Develop full project scope, identify external contract services, and prepare accurate costing.
* Manage & assist design, manufacture, and delivery of MEICA systems in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
* Assist in the preparation and briefing of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site activities, ensuring compliance with DSEAR and ATEX requirements.
* Coordinate resources and liaise with the Project team to meet project milestones.
* Assist & oversee daily site management of operatives and subcontractors, including MEICA specialists.
* Assist & monitor project progress, costs, and escalate issues promptly to the Project Manager.
* Ensure customer sign-off and satisfaction upon project completion.
* Act as Temporary Works Coordinator, ensuring compliance with Temporary Works procedures and maintaining registers.
* Work with the project team to complete ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) and IT documentation.
General Duties
* Maintain knowledge of relevant industry standards and MEICA best practices.
* Work within company guidelines, policies, and procedures at all times.
* Attend internal and external meetings as required.
* Maintain effective, productive, and professional supplier and client relations.
Health & Safety
* Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
* Take a proactive role in improving Health and Safety performance, including MEICA and DSEAR compliance.
Required Qualifications
* MEICA-related training or certification (relevant). Valid UK driving licence.
