Lorien's Utilities client is currently recruiting for a Strategic Procurement Officer to join on a 6-month initial contract, inside IR35.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for setting up Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) within a specified high risk category of suppliers.
2. Update supplier contracts, ensuring a risk report is created to show progress.
3. Collaborate with Category Managers and the Business to develop standard and complex supplier segmentation and governance.
4. Ensure risks are highlighted and a process is established to manage suppliers.
5. Support relevant supplier relationship and performance management activities.
6. Work closely with Stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and influence beyond your sphere of responsibility.
Your Skills and Experience
1. Broad knowledge of IT markets, business needs, and UK Procurement Legislation, with the ability to contextualize this knowledge.
2. Strong understanding of statutory and legal provisions, with experience in drafting IT contracts with special terms to ensure long-term protection for the business.
3. Experience with procurement systems such as Oracle, Jaggaer Bravo!, Achilles Utility Vendor Database, or similar systems is beneficial.
4. Strong understanding of supply chain management.
5. A target-focused, result-driven individual capable of implementing change.
6. Excellent communication, numeracy, and writing skills.
