Overview
Position: Geo‑Environmental Principal – Contaminated Land Sector. Location: Manchester or Leeds. A senior consultant role focused on delivering project solutions across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver contaminated land and hydrogeological technical work on projects.
* Manage finances, programme delivery and review the technical work of other team members.
* Promote high performance standards and influence the development of projects.
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulators, subcontractors and internal disciplines.
* Mentor junior staff and delegate within the SL&RM team.
* Collaborate with other technical disciplines to deliver groundwater and contaminated land projects.
Qualifications
* Degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science or a related discipline.
* Post‑graduate qualification desirable.
* Chartered status with a relevant professional body.
* Experience delivering consultancy work on time, within budget and to client quality expectations.
* Strong technical, people and project management skills with a proven record of winning and delivering high‑profile work.
* Leadership of Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigations, remediation design, and verification/validation.
* Good working knowledge of legislation, guidance, industry standards and best practice for contaminated land, materials management, and waste.
* Commercial understanding of geo‑environmental aspects of projects and a proven track record of winning work.

Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance; offers of employment are contingent upon obtaining the relevant level of clearance. Vetting is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency for at least five years.
