Overview
Location: London, Cardiff or Remote across UK.
Salary: c.£45,000 + incentive awards tied to performance, and other benefits.
Responsibilities
* Own the performance lifecycle: explore every touchpoint from goal setting and real‑time feedback to reviews and personal development.
* Bridge the gaps: work cross‑functionally with People Ops, Partners, Reward and Tech to build and lead seamless, end‑to‑end processes that work for people.
* Be data‑driven: use research and analytics to spot friction, measure impact and prioritize the work that delivers the biggest results.
* Test & learn: iterate new ideas through pilots and continuous experimentation, keeping the monzonaut experience at the center.
Impact you’ll make
You’ll play a key role in shaping how performance works at Monzo, partnering with the People Product Lead to turn our approach into something clear, impactful and grounded in what Monzonauts and managers actually need. This role offers significant scope to shape direction, not just deliver against a plan.
What you’ll own
Discovery and design
You’ll use research, data and feedback to understand where the performance experience works well and where it falls short. That could include surveys, interviews and analysis to identify practical improvements that will make a meaningful difference for Monzonauts.
Building the toolkit
You’ll partner closely with People Tech to design tools and experiences that make performance simpler, more useful and easier to navigate. This could include self‑service dashboards, better feedback loops and tools that support managers to do their best work.
Shipping and iterating
You’ll test ideas, run pilots and learn quickly. We care about thinking big, starting small and improving as we go, so you’ll be comfortable validating ideas before scaling them more widely across Monzo.
Running the show
You’ll manage and coordinate central performance projects, collaborating with a wide variety of SMEs and workstream leads to keep everything on track, and keep stakeholders up to date.
Landing the change
You’ll help make sure new tools and approaches are adopted well and have the intended impact, thinking not just about what we build but how we communicate it, support people through it and make it clear and usable in practice.
Measuring success
You’ll define how we measure success and track whether changes improve the experience over time, from how often feedback happens to how people feel about the experience overall.
Keeping it fair
You’ll help ensure the performance experience is thoughtful, consistent and fair, spotting risks such as bias, unnecessary complexity or unintended consequences early.
Qualifications
* You care deeply about making Monzo a better place to work and building meaningful products for Monzonauts.
* You’re collaborative and thoughtful, able to bring people together across teams, disciplines and time zones.
* You’re good at getting to the heart of a problem, especially when things feel messy or unclear.
* You’re comfortable switching between longer‑term thinking and practical work that keeps things moving.
* You use data to drive decisions while staying close to the human experience behind it.
* You have strong judgement and can make thoughtful calls even when there is no perfect answer.
* You’re comfortable challenging the status quo and seeking better ways to do things.
* You’re curious and passionate about learning and enjoy sharing ideas and helping others learn too.
Benefits
* Salary: c.£45,000
* Incentive awards tied to performance
* Flexible working hours; trust to work enough hours to do your job well at times that suit you and your team
* £1,000 learning budget each year for books, training courses and conferences
