Job summary
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust invite applications for the position of Theatre Scrub Team Leader for our site at and Bishop Auckland General Hospital.

Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritisedaily activities to respond to changing circumstances, providing a seamlessservice to users.
Developwork plans and allocate work, consistent with departmental objectives, ensuringthese are realistic and achievable, taking into account multidisciplinary teammembers abilities and developmental needs.
Contributeto recruitment and retention using agreed methods and protocols for staffingand skill mix
Objectivelyassess the work of multidisciplinary team members, providing clear constructivefeedback in a manner most likely to improve/maintain performance.
Contributeto the ongoing audit cycle to identify issues which arise during theperioperative phase. Participate in effective implementation of measures tocombat these issues.
Participatein direct care needs of the patient, providing expert knowledge of clinicalspecialities and act as a role model
Monitorthe standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patientcare.
Beproactive with audit and monitoring of documentation to ensure that it isproduced in accordance with Trust policy and also NMC/HCPC guidelines.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB
Co-ordinate activities and resources on a daily basis tomeet the needs of the multiple service users.Be an effective role model, teach; facilitate; mentor and preceptor tojunior members of the multidisciplinary team.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide smoothcoordination of the operating theatre department, optimizing all resourcesavailable in ensuring a safe, cost effective service.
The post holder is also required to undertake the role ofUnit Co-ordinator as & when rostered.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience as a Registered Nurse / ODP within the Operating Theatre. Teaching and assessing qualification or willingness to work towards. Diploma or degree or willingness to work towards or relevant practical experience within the department specialities.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse /Operating Department Practitioner.
* Experience as a Registered Nurse / ODP within the Operating Theatre. Teaching and assessing qualification or willingness to work towards. Diploma or degree or willingness to work towards or relevant practical experience within the department specialities.
Special Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Computer skills. Specific skills relevant to area of practice. Recruitment and selection skills.
