Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. You will play a key role in managing staff, inventory control, and maintaining store standards to enhance the overall shopping experience.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of team members to foster a high-performing retail environment.
* Supervise daily operations including staffing, and work planning to ensure optimal store performance.
* Manage inventory levels through effective inventory control practices and merchandising strategies.
* Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate bookkeeping for daily transactions.
* Implement marketing strategies to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
* Utilise retail math for pricing strategies and sales management to maximise profitability.
* Maintain a clean, organised store environment that reflects brand standards.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following skills:
* Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager with a strong focus on customer service.
* Proficiency in employee training & development.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Experience with POS systems, and cash handling procedures.
* Familiarity with inventory management practices and retail math principles.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team

* A active interest in recreational fishing or previous experience within the fishing tackle industry is required
